Geçen hafta 83 yaşına giren Cumhurbaşkanı felç geçirdi 1 haftadır hastanede tedavi gördüğü öğrenildi konuyla ilgili basına açıklama yaptı. geçtiğimiz aylarda felç geçirdiği öğrenildi. İrlanda Cumhurbaşkanı Michael D. Higgins’in geçtiğimiz aylarda felç geçirdiği öğrenildi. Bir süredir hastanede tedavi gören Higgins sağlık durumunun iyiye gittiğini söyledi. Hastaneden taburcu olan Higgins görevlerine geri döndü.

Cumhurbaşkanı Higgins, yerel basına verdiği röportajda “Şimdi daha iyiyim. Geçirdiğim felç bilişsel yeteneklerimi etkilemedi, ancak basit motor yeteneklerimi etkiledi. Sol elimi şimdi tamamen kullanabiliyorum. Ancak felç nedeniyle belimdeki rahatsızlıklar kötüleşti” dedi.
