The vast majority of people believe that acne is a condition which only affects teenagers going through puberty. But that's far from being true it can affect just about anybody. Luckily enough, you can treat acne with a homemade aspirin mask. It's a simple and safe procedure which shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes and it only requires common ingredients you can easily find in your home at any time.
Ingredients for the Mask:
- Crushed aspirin pills. About 4 should do the trick in most cases, but if the affected skin area is larger, then you'd better have a couple more at hand. Use a spoon, a cup or a rolling pin to crush them into a fine powder.
- A lemon from which you'll extract two tablespoons of lemon juice.
- A couple tablespoons of honey. Preferably warmed up prior to mixing the ingredients of the mask so it has a chance to cool a bit. If you don't have any honey lying around you can use olive oil or common moisturizer instead.
- Baking soda which you'll have to apply to a wet washcloth. Use warm water.
How to Prepare the Mask
The first thing you'll need to do is take the crushed aspirin pills and mix them with the lemon juice into a fine paste. Use a small bowl or a shallow dish as a container. Once mixed, you can start adding the honey - but only if you're also suffering from dry skin. It's usually better that you avoid honey if you have oily skin and go for a few more drops of lemon juice instead.
Apply the paste on the affected area and wait about 7 to 10 minutes. Always use the mask on pimples or itchy surfaces only - there's no use applying it on clear, healthy skin. Once it dries out, wash it out softly with the washcloth until you've removed it completely.
